2008/9 Team Kratos Program Description
Team Kratos offers three programs during the 2008/9 wrestling season.
1) Introduction to Wrestling (Oct 7th -Oct 23rd) - This program is designed for first time wrestlers who desire to investigate if wrestling is a sport they would grow to enjoy. Over the course of six sessions, participants will be introduced to basic wrestling techniques. These new found skills are then put to the test during inter-squad games and wrestling competitions. Practices occur on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm to 7:45pm.
2) Novice Youth Wrestling Program (Oct 27th, 2008 - Feb 14th, 2009). This is a 14 week program geared for novice and beginner wrestlers who have an interest in not only learning wrestling techniques, but also compete in local area matches against wrestlers of similar ability. Practices occur on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm to 7:45pm. Competitions are held on Sunday afternoons.
3) Advanced Wrestling Program (Oct 27th, 2008 - Mar 19, 2009). Team Kratos' flagship program. During the course of 19 weeks, wrestlers are taught advanced wrestling skills and reinforce these techniques through higher intensity drills and conditioning. Participants in the advanced program compete in local and regional tournaments under the banner of Team Kratos to include the Ohio Youth Wrestling League and in the Ohio Grade School State Championships. Practices occur on Tues and Thursday evenings from 6pm to 7:45pm, and Saturday's from 11am - 1pm. Competitions are held most weekends on either Saturday or Sundays throughout the season. Weekend competitions are optional, but highly recommended.
